This method for producing an oxidizable-metal-containing coating material comprises: a step in which a coating apparatus (1) is used, and a coating liquid containing an oxidizable metal, which contains oxidizable metal particles, a carbon component, a thickener and water, is applied to a substrate (11); and a coating liquid preparation step in which a thickener solution, which is prepared by dissolving the thickener in water, the oxidizable metal particles, and the carbon component or an aqueous dispersion of the carbon component, are loaded into a preparation tank (3) and mixed so as to prepare the oxidizable-metal-containing coating material. In the coating liquid preparation step, the oxidizable metal particles are loaded into the thickener solution. The coating apparatus (1) is provided with a relay tank (4) that is capable of temporarily storing the coating liquid to be supplied to a coating means (5) from the preparation tank (3), and the oxidizable-metal-containing coating material inside the preparation tank (3) is supplied to the coating means (5) via the relay tank (4). Ce procédé de fabrication d'une matière de revêtement contenant un métal oxydable comprend : une étape dans laquelle un appareil de revêtement (1) est utilisé et un liquide de revêtement contenant un métal oxydable, qui contient des particules de métal oxydable, un composant de carbone, un épaississant et de l'eau, est appliqué à un substrat (11); et une étape de préparation de liquide de revêtement dans laquelle une solution d'épaississant, qui est préparée par dissolution de l'épaississant dans l'eau, les particules de métal oxydable et le composant de carbone ou une dispersion aqueuse du composant de carbone, sont chargés dans un réservoir de préparation (3) et mélangés de façon à préparer la matière de revêtement contenant un métal oxydable. Dans l'étape de préparation de liquide de revêtement, les particules de métal oxydable sont chargées dans la solution d'épaississant. L'appareil de revêtement (1) est doté d'un réservoir de relais (4) qui est capable de stocker temporairement le liquide de revêtement à adresser à un moyen de revêtement (5) à partir du réservoir de préparation (3) et la matière de revêtement contenant un métal oxydable à l'intérieur du réservoir de préparation (3) est adressée au moyen de revêtement (5) par l'intermédiaire du réservoir de relais (4).
