A DLP mini-projector and a projecting method. A light source (1) of a light supply device of the projector is LED chips having three kinds of colored light and arranged in a straight line on the same plane. The projector further comprises a collimating lens group (2, 3). A central optical axis of the collimating lens group coincides with a central optical axis of the LED chip in the middle. Two spectroscopes (4, 5) for reflecting different colored light and a reflecting mirror (6) are disposed in order along an optical path of the collimating lens group. The three kinds of colored light emitted from the light source can be emitted in parallel to subsequent optical parts.
