Summary:This motor is provided with a stator and a rotor that is driven by the stator so as to rotate around a rotary shaft. The rotor is provided with magnets that have circumferential surfaces arranged along the direction of rotation. The stator is provided with a core having teeth which project toward the magnets and coils formed by winding a conductive wire around the tooth. Magnetic pole sections are provided on the teeth at positions directly facing the circumferential surfaces of the magnets. The axial dimension of the magnetic pole section is same as that of the tooth. Auxiliary magnetic pole sections, which project in the axial direction, are provided on both ends of the magnetic pole section in the axial direction. The ratio of the dimension of the auxiliary magnetic pole section in the axial direction to the total length of the magnetic pole section and the auxiliary magnetic pole section combined is set between 0.50 and 0.85.
