An airbag device is configured so that damage to an assist grip during the inflation and expansion of the airbag is reduced to prevent the breakage of the assist grip. An airbag device (1) is installed in a vehicle (90) configured in such a manner that a mounting section (81) for mounting an assist grip (80) thereon is mounted in the upper part of the vehicle interior. The airbag device (1) is provided with an airbag (10) and an inflator (2). The airbag (10) has adjacent gas chambers (40A-40C) inflated at positions close to the assist grip (80) and is disposed in the upper part of the vehicle interior. The inflator (2) generates gas and inflates and expands downward the airbag (10). The adjacent gas chambers (40A-40C) have gas inflow openings (41A-41C) located at the lower ends of the adjacent gas chambers (40A-40C), and gas flows into the adjacent gas chambers (40A-40C) only from the gas inflow openings (41A-41C) and inflates the adjacent gas chambers (40A-40C). Le coussin de sécurité gonflable (10) comporte des chambres à gaz adjacentes (40A-40C) gonflées dans des positions proches de la poignée de maintien (80), et est disposé dans la partie supérieure de l'intérieur du véhicule. Le gonfleur (2) génère du gaz et gonfle le coussin de sécurité gonflable (10) et provoque son expansion vers le bas. Les chambres à gaz adjacentes (40A-40C) présentent des ouvertures d'écoulement d'entrée de gaz (41A-41C) disposées aux extrémités inférieures des chambres à gaz adjacentes (40A-40C) et un gaz s'écoule dans les chambres à gaz adjacentes (40A-40C) uniquement à partir des ouvertures d'écoulement d'entrée de gaz (41A-41C), et gonfle les chambres à gaz adjacentes (40A-40C).
