An improved closure for a metal container body (1) in which a lid (3) of peelable lidding material is sealed directly to an upwardly and outwardly inclined sealing surface (2), the sealing surface being an inner surface of the container body. Another aspect of the invention relates to a method of making such a closure. The sealing surface at and outwardly adjacent to the inside edge of an annular bond region (4) is inclined such that a non-peel loading is applied to the annular bond region. L'invention porte sur une fermeture perfectionnée pour un corps de récipient métallique (1) dans lequel un opercule (3) fait d'une matière de fermeture pelable est soudé directement sur une surface de scellement inclinée vers le haut et vers l'extérieur (2), la surface de scellement étant une surface intérieure du corps du récipient. Un autre aspect de l'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'une telle fermeture. La surface de scellement située au bord intérieur, ou dans une position adjacente et extérieure au bord intérieur d'une région de fixation annulaire (4) est inclinée de telle sorte qu'une charge étrangère à l'enlèvement est appliquée à la région de la fixation annulaire.
