A purpose of the present invention is to provide a low molecular weight compounds which especially promotes induction of the differentiation of ES cells into insulin-producing cells. Another purpose of the present invention is to provide: a method for inducing the differentiation of ES cells into insulin-producing cells using the compound; and an agent for promoting induction of the differentiation into insulin-producing cells. Another purpose of the present invention is to provide the thus-induced insulin-producing cells. Provided are: an agent for promoting induction of the differentiation of stem cells derived from a mammal into insulin-producing cells, which contains a compound that is selected from the group consisting of dopamine metabolism inhibitors, serotonin metabolism inhibitors, acetylchotine, acetylcholine degrading enzyme inhibitors and acetylcholine receptor activators; and a method for inducing differentiation using the agent for promoting induction of differentiation. Un objet de la présente invention est un composé de bas poids moléculaire qui favorise, en particulier, l'induction de la différenciation des cellules ES en cellules productrices d'insuline. Les autres objets de la présente invention sont : un procédé d'induction de la différenciation des cellules ES en cellules productrices d'insuline faisant appel au composé selon l'invention ; un agent destiné à favoriser l'induction de la différenciation en cellules productrices d'insuline ; et les cellules productrices d'insuline ainsi induites. La présente invention concerne : un agent destiné à favoriser l'induction de la différenciation des cellules souches dérivées d'un mammifère en cellules productrices d'insuline, qui contient un composé choisi dans le groupe constitué par les inhibiteurs du métabolisme de la dopamine, les inhibiteurs du métabolisme de la sérotonine, l'acétylcholine, les inhibiteurs d'enzymes dégradant l'acétylcholine et les activateurs des récepteurs d'acétylcholine ; et un procédé d'induction de la différenciation faisant appel audit agent destiné à favoriser l'induction de la différenciation.
