A system with the present invention applied thereto is assumed to receive data transmitted via a plurality of transmission paths. In order to handle the received data appropriately, the system is provided with: a position detecting means for correcting skew among data transmitted via the plurality of transmission paths, and detecting, for each of the lanes, the position of a marker for distinguishing the lane that was allotted the data; and an information extracting means for extracting, for each of the lanes, distinguishing information indicated by the marker, using the result of the detection of the marker position by the position detecting means.
