An information providing device comprises: a travel route searching function for searching a travel route leading to a destination; a power consumption calculation function for calculating the total power consumption when traveling the travel route; and an information providing function for providing the user with information about the power consumption. The power consumption calculation function has: a first calculation function for referring to travel information made to correspond to first unit regions and calculating respective first power consumptions consumed to travel the first unit regions; a second calculation function for referring to weather information forecasted on a per second unit region basis, predicting setting temperatures to be input to an air conditioner when traveling the second unit regions, and calculating respective second power consumptions consumed when the air conditioner to which the predicted setting temperatures are input is run while traveling the second unit regions; and an accumulating function for calculating the total power consumption on the basis of the first and second power consumptions. This provides the user with accurate information about the power consumption of a vehicle.
