La présente invention concerne des compositions de colorants optiques sulfonés, spécialement des colorants adaptés à des applications biologiques in vitro et à l'imagerie in vivo. La présente invention concerne en outre des compositions de colorants améliorés et leurs intermédiaires qui permettent l'élimination d'impuretés indésirables récemment identifiées. La présente invention concerne également l'emploi des compositions de colorants améliorés dans l'élaboration de conjugués avec des molécules cibles biologiques.
