Summary:The disclosed method for producing tissue clamps that bring into close contact and clamp two living tissues together comprises the following processes: a process of fixing one end of a metal wire to an axial body and while twisting said wire around the axis of said wire, winding said wire around said axial body to mold a coil; a heat-treating process that imparts superelasticity to said wire; and a process of deforming said wire to which superelasticity has been imparted to an extent that said wire is capable of elastic deformation and reversing the winding direction of said coil from the direction in which said coil was wound during the process in which said coil was molded. In said production method, after the process of reversing the winding direction of said coil, the initial tension of said coil in the direction of compression acts on said coil.
