Procédé d'obtention d'une chlorhydrine, d'un ester de chlorhydrine ou d'un mélange des deux, comprenant les opérations suivantes : mise en contact, dans un réacteur d'hydro-chloration, d'un hydrocarbure aliphatique multi-hydroxylé, d'un ester d'hydrocarbure multi-hydroxylé ou d'un mélange des deux avec une source de chlorure d'hydrogène en présence d'un catalyseur d'acide carboxylique extractible ou hydrophobe.
