Provided is a printing system, wherein, in a case when a plurality of information processing apparatuses are sharing a plurality of printers on a network, the congestion state of a selected printer can be grasped before sending printing data thereto. In the printing system (1), a printer-state file (34) within a shared folder (200) of a network (101) contains number-of-users information (250) that indicates the number of PCs (PC11A-PC11C) that have selected each of the printers (21A-21C), as the number of users of each of the printers (21A-21C). When either of the printers (21A-21C) is selected by any of the PCs, the number-of-users information (250) is updated so that the number of users associated with the printer is increased. A PC obtains the number-of-users information (250) from the printer state file (34), and displays, on an input/edit screen (202), a number-of-users display (231) that indicates the number of people using the selected printer, on the basis of the number-of-users information (250).
