An illumination apparatus comprises: a long LED unit provided, on one surface side in the thickness direction thereof, with light emitting devices using LED chips; a reflector plate held by the apparatus body; a lighting device for turning on the LED unit; and a heat dissipation block for dissipating the heat generated by the LED unit, the heat dissipation block being disposed on the other surface side of the LED unit and having the LED unit interchangeably attached thereto. An embedding section in which the LED unit is embedded is formed in the reflector plate, and the heat radiation block is held by the reflector plate. A flat surface portion from the portions of the LED unit, the portions being those from which the light from the light emitting devices is extracted, and a portion of the reflecting surface of the reflector plate, the portion being located in the periphery of the embedding section, are made to be flush with each other. Un appareil d'éclairage comprend : une longue unité à LED pourvue, sur un côté de surface dans la direction d'épaisseur de celle-ci, de dispositifs d'émission de lumière utilisant des puces LED ; une plaque de réflexion maintenue par le corps d'appareil ; un dispositif d'éclairage destiné à allumer l'unité à LED ; et un bloc de dissipation de chaleur destiné à dissiper la chaleur produite par l'unité à LED, le bloc de dissipation de chaleur étant disposé sur l'autre côté de surface de l'unité à LED et ayant l'unité à LED fixée à lui de façon interchangeable. Une section d'intégration dans laquelle est intégrée l'unité à LED est formée dans la plaque de réflexion, et le bloc de rayonnement de chaleur est maintenu par la plaque de réflexion. Une partie de surface plate partant des parties de l'unité à LED, les parties étant celles d'où est extraite la lumière provenant des dispositifs d'émission de lumière, et une partie de la surface de réflexion de la plaque de réflexion, la partie se trouvant dans la périphérie de la section d'intégration, sont conçues pour être mutuellement alignées.
