Summary:The invention relates to the field of bactericidal sorbent materials for purifying liquids and gases from finely dispersed particles and microbiological pollutants, including for medical use, said sorbent materials having enhanced bactericidal properties while the sorptive properties of the material are maintained. The bactericidal sorbent material comprises at least one base layer made of a non-woven fibrous polymer material with aluminium oxide hydrate particles attached to the fibres thereof, and an inorganic bactericidal component, wherein the inorganic bactericidal component is sorbed on the high-porosity aluminium oxide hydrate particles. A method for producing the material and a method for filtering liquid or gaseous media are also claimed, as well as a medical sorbent for therapeutic and/or hygienic articles, including wound dressings. L'invention se rapporte au domaine des matériaux sorbants bactéricides destinés à purifier des liquides et des gaz des particules finement dispersées et des polluants microbiologiques, y compris ceux à usage médical qui présentent des propriétés bactéricides améliorées tout en conservant les propriétés de sorption du matériau. Le matériau sorbant bactéricide comprend au moins une couche de base en polymère fibreux non-tissé qui porte sur les fibres des particules d'hydrate d'oxyde d'aluminium et un composant bactéricide inorganique, ledit composant bactéricide inorganique étant sorbé sur les particules hautement poreuses d'hydrate d'oxyde d'aluminium. L'invention porte également sur un procédé de fabrication du matériau, un procédé de filtrage de milieux liquides ou gazeux ainsi qu'un sorbant médical utilisé à des fins thérapeutiques et/ou hygiéniques, y compris les pansements pour plaies.
