L'invention porte sur des procédés et sur un appareil pour dispositif d'affichage tactile, dans lequel une couche transparente est disposée sur une couche d'affichage, dans lequel on dirige la lumière de façon à ce qu'elle se propage dans et/ou à travers la couche transparente, dans lequel on mesure la lumière dispersée en réponse à un objet touchant une surface de la couche transparente et perturbant la propagation de ladite lumière à travers celle-ci, et dans lequel on calcule une ou plusieurs positions dans lesquelles l'objet touche la couche transparente sur la base des signaux obtenus par l'étape consistant à mesurer la lumière dispersée.
