L'invention concerne un instrument chirurgical comprenant un effecteur terminal et au moins une partie d'un arbre configurée pour passer à travers un trocart, et un effecteur de commande configuré pour commander l'effecteur terminal, l'effecteur terminal étant en communication avec l'effecteur de commande. Un arbre est couplé à l'effecteur terminal et est dimensionné pour passer à travers le trocart. L'arbre peut être conformé dans une pluralité d'orientations.
