Summary:Ultrasound transducers may be mapped by varying a focus-affecting parameter and adjusting the parameter so as to improve focus quality. In some embodiments, mapping involves successively varying the phase of one transducer element, or group of elements, with respect to a constant phase of the other transducer elements, and determining the phase at which a tissue displacement in the ultrasound focus is maximized. La présente invention concerne des transducteurs à ultrasons qui peuvent être mappés par la modification d'un paramètre concernant le foyer et par l'ajustement du paramètre de façon à améliorer la qualité du foyer. Dans certains modes de réalisation, le mappage consiste à modifier successivement la phase d'un élément, ou groupe d'éléments, du transducteur, par rapport à une phase constante des autres éléments du transducteur, et à déterminer la phase à laquelle un déplacement de tissu dans le foyer d'ultrasons est maximisé.
