Furthermore, an optical communication system is suggested comprising said optical element. La présente invention se rapporte à un procédé et à un dispositif permettant de régler un laser dans un réseau optique, au moins un message actif étant transmis d'un premier composant optique à un second composant optique et un message de confirmation étant transmis du second composant optique au premier composant optique qui détermine la longueur d'onde du laser qui doit être utilisé sur la base du message actif reçu par le second composant optique. En outre, on propose un système de communication optique qui comprend ledit élément optique.
