Summary:Disclosed is the isolation/identification of a gene associated with the number of primary panicle branches in a plant and use of the gene. A gene encoding a protein comprising the amino acid sequence depicted in SEQ ID NO:2 is isolated as a gene associated with the number of primary panicle branches in a plant. By using the gene, it becomes possible to readily produce a plant which has a large number of primary panicle branches and therefore can produce a large number of grains. L'invention porte sur l'isolement/identification d'un gène associé au nombre de branches de panicule primaire dans une plante et sur l'utilisation du gène. Un gène codant pour une protéine comprenant la séquence d'acides aminés représentée dans SEQ ID NO:2 est isolé comme gène associé au nombre de branches de panicule primaire dans une plante. Par utilisation du gène, il devient possible de produire facilement une plante qui a un grand nombre de branches de panicule primaire et peut ainsi produire un grand nombre de graines.
