Summary: | The invention relates to a method for treating alkaline and saline batteries including mechanically grinding said batteries to obtain a battery homogenate, at least one separation making it possible to isolate the black mass, acid leaching the black mass making it possible to obtain a mixed solution of manganese and zinc salts, a solid/liquid separation making it possible to recover said mixed solution of manganese and zinc salts, a precipitation of zinc in the form of zinc sulphide, and a selective recovery of manganese and zinc compounds.
