A damping suspension for an add-on armor system of an ACV (Armored Combat Vehicle), comprises mounting means for mounting said add-on armor system to an ACV; and damping means coupled to said mounting means and to said add-on armor system's armor means, in order to damp vibrations and restrain shocks unto which said armor means might be exposed as an outcome of said ACV's travel; and wherein said damping suspension is characterized by that said damping suspension includes a device of the 'wire rope isolator' type. L'invention concerne une suspension d'amortissement pour un système de blindage additionnel d'un ACV (engin de combat blindé), comprenant un moyen de montage pour monter ledit système de blindage additionnel sur un ACV; et un moyen d'amortissement couplé audit moyen de montage et audit moyen de blindage du système de blindage additionnel, afin d'amortir les vibrations et limiter les chocs auxquels ledit moyen de blindage pourrait être exposé en conséquence du déplacement dudit ACV, ladite suspension d'amortissement étant caractérisée en ce que ladite suspension d'amortissement comprend un dispositif du type « isolant de câble métallique ».
