L'invention porte sur un procédé et un dispositif de traitement de données dans un réseau à multiplexage en longueur d'onde ultra-dense (UDWDM), dans lesquels l'un d'au moins deux terminaux de ligne optique (OLT) communique avec au moins une unité de réseau optique (ONU), l'au moins une ONU est connectée à un diviseur qui est connecté à chacun desdits au moins deux OLT, les au moins deux OLT sont actifs, et les au moins deux OLT assurent une commutation de protection et/ou un partage de charge. En outre, un système de communication est suggéré comprenant ledit dispositif.
