The invention also relates to an improved impact absorbing member formed by a manufacturing process including bending. L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un élément d'absorption des chocs. Ledit procédé commence avec une section creuse fermée ou sensiblement fermée ayant une section intermédiaire et deux sections d'extrémité, au moins l'une des sections d'extrémité étant cintrée pour former un élément de support, au moins une empreinte étant ainsi faite dans la partie de la section devant être déformée par l'opération de cintrage. L'invention concerne également un élément d'absorption des chocs amélioré formé par un procédé de fabrication comprenant un cintrage.
