La présente invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'hydrotalcite ayant une capacité d'échange d'anions et une stabilité thermique supérieures, qui consiste à former un germe de telle sorte que les ions CO3 2- se situent à leur maximum de stabilité entre des couches de Mg-Al, puis à effectuer une cristallisation primaire et une cristallisation secondaire.
