The photochemical cell comprises semiconductor microparticles that are sensitized with a binuclear metal complex dye represented by general formula (1) and having excellent electron transfer properties and an electrolysis solution mainly composed of an ionic liquid containing (CN)4B- as an anionic component. La présente invention concerne une cellule photochimique. La cellule photochimique présente un fort coefficient d'absorbance. La cellule photochimique comprend des microparticules semi-conductrices qui sont sensibilisées avec un colorant à complexe métallique binucléaire représenté par la formule générale (1) et présentant d'excellentes propriétés de transfert d'électron et une solution d'électrolyse principalement composée d'un liquide ionique contenant du (CN)4B- comme composant anionique.
