The present invention relates, inter alia, a method of selectively controlling weeds at a locus comprising crop plants and weeds, wherein the method comprises application to the locus of a weed controlling amount of a pesticide composition comprising an homogentisate solanesyltransferase (HST) inhibiting herbicide and/or hydroxyphenyl pyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD) inhibiting herbicide, wherein the crop plants comprise at least one recombinant polynucleotide which comprises a region which encodes an HST; to a method of selectively controlling weeds at a locus comprising crop plants and weeds, wherein the method comprises application to the locus of a weed controlling amount of a pesticide composition comprising an homogentisate solanesyltransferase (HST) inhibiting herbicide, wherein the crop plants comprise at least one recombinant polynucleotide which comprises a region which encodes a HPPD enzyme and to recombinant polynucleotides and vectors for utilised in the methods. The present invention further relates to a herbicidal composition comprising a HPPD-inhibiting herbicide and a HST-inhibiting herbicide. La présente invention concerne entre autres un procédé pour lutter sélectivement contre les mauvaises herbes dans une parcelle comprenant des plantes agricoles et des mauvaises herbes, ledit procédé comprenant l'application sur la parcelle d'une quantité de composition pesticide permettant de lutter contre les mauvaises herbes, ladite composition comprenant un herbicide inhibiteur de l'homogentisate solanesyltransférase (HST) et/ou un herbicide inhibiteur de l'hydroxyphényl pyruvate dioxygénase (HPPD), les plantes agricoles comprenant au moins un polynucléotide recombiné renfermant une région qui code pour une HST. L'invention concerne un procédé pour lutter sélectivement contre les mauvaises herbes dans une parcelle comprenant des plantes agricoles et des mauvaises herbes, ledit procédé comprenant l'application sur la parcelle d'une quantité de composition pesticide permettant de lutter contre les mauvaises herbes, ladite composition comprenant un herbicide inhibiteur de l'homogentisate solanesyltransférase (HST), les plantes agricoles comprenant au moins un polynucléotide recombiné renfermant une région qui code pour une enzyme HPPD et pour des polynucléotides, et elle concerne des vecteurs recombinés utilisés dans les procédés. La présente invention concerne en outre une composition herbicide comprenant un herbicide inhibant la HPPD et un herbicide inhibant la HST.
