Summary:An axial flux rotating electrical machine is disclosed, which comprises a stator (10) sandwiched between two rotors (12, 14). The machine comprises retention means (30) for retaining magnets on the rotor, the retention means comprising a back plate (32) with a plurality of protrusions (34) which define a plurality of pockets for accommodating the magnets. The retention means is arranged such that the magnets can be inserted into the pockets and held therein, and the retention means with inserted magnets can be fixed to a rotor so as to retain the magnets axially and tangentially. A cooling jacket (22) for the stator, and techniques for securing the stator to the machine, are also disclosed. La machine comprend en outre un moyen de retenue (30) destiné à retenir des aimants sur le rotor, le moyen de retenue comprenant une contreplaque (32) dotée d'une pluralité de protubérances (34) délimitant une pluralité d'évidements destinés à recevoir les aimants. Le moyen de retenue est conçu de façon à permettre l'insertion et le maintien des aimants dans les évidements. Le moyen de retenue dans lequel ont été insérés les aimants peut être fixé au rotor de manière à retenir les aimants axialement et tangentiellement. L'invention concerne également une chemise de refroidissement (22) pour le stator ainsi que des techniques permettant de fixer solidement le stator à la machine.
