A disposable absorbent article comprising an absorbent core having a garment surface and an opposed body surface, which surfaces meet along at least one longitudinal edge and at least one end edge; a liquid permeable topsheet positioned adjacent the body surface of the absorbent core and having a pair of opposed longitudinal edges; a liquid impermeable backsheet positioned adjacent the garment surface of the absorbent core; and a waistcap / waistband disposed adjacent to at least one projection associated with the absorbent core, wherein the waistcap / waistband is capable of absorbing moisture and subsequently deforming to fill at least a portion of space between the article and a portion of the wearer's body. L'invention porte sur un article absorbant jetable qui comporte une partie centrale absorbante ayant une surface de vêtement et une surface de corps opposée, lesquelles surfaces se rencontrent le long d'au moins un bord longitudinal et d'au moins un bord d'extrémité ; une feuille supérieure perméable aux liquides positionnée adjacente à la surface de corps de la partie centrale absorbante et possédant une paire de bords longitudinaux opposés ; une feuille postérieure imperméable aux liquides positionnée adjacente à la surface de vêtement de la partie centrale absorbante, et une ceinture disposée adjacente à au moins une saillie associée à la partie centrale absorbante, la ceinture étant capable d'absorber l'humidité et de se déformer sensiblement pour remplir au moins une partie de l'espace compris entre l'article et une partie du corps de l'utilisateur.
