The present invention concerns a method and a device for displaying roads with height variations. The device for displaying roads with height variations comprises: a database for separately storing information about an upper layer on which is formed a road and information about a supporting element which supports the upper layer; a viewpoint-ascertaining unit for ascertaining the viewpoint displayed on screen; and a road-generating unit for generating a road with height variations corresponding to the viewpoint on the basis of the information stored on the database. La présente invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif d'affichage de routes présentant des dénivelées. Le dispositif comprend: une base de données permettant de stocker séparément des informations concernant une couche supérieure sur laquelle est construite une route, et des informations concernant un élément de support portant la couche supérieure; une unité de détermination de point de vue pour déterminer le point de vue affiché à l'écran; et une unité de création de route pour créer une route avec dénivelées correspondant au point de vue, sur la base des informations stockées dans la base de données.
