L'invention porte sur un dispositif de mémoire magnétique non volatile possédant une ou plusieurs cellules de mémoire, chacune des cellules de mémoire incluant un commutateur magnétique incluant un composant magnétique en forme de C et une bobine d'écriture située près du composant magnétique, la bobine d'écriture étant couplée pour recevoir un courant suffisant afin de créer une polarité magnétique rémanente dans le composant magnétique, et un capteur à effet Hall, situé près de composant magnétique, pour détecter la polarité magnétique rémanente indicative d'un bit de données stocké.
