A method (100) and system (300) is described for processing video data comprising a plurality of images. The method (100) comprising obtaining (104, 106), for each of the plurality of images, a segmentation in a plurality of regions and a set of keypoints, and tracking (108) at least one region between a first image and a subsequent image resulting in a matched region in the subsequent image taking into account a matching between keypoints in the first image and the subsequent image. The latter results in accurate tracking of regions. Furthermore the method may optionally also perform label propagation taking into account keypoint tracking. L'invention porte sur un procédé (100) et un système (300) pour traiter des données vidéo comprenant une pluralité d'images. Le procédé (100) comprend l'obtention (104, 106), pour chacune de la pluralité d'images, d'une segmentation dans une pluralité de régions et d'un ensemble de point clé, et le suivi (108) d'au moins une région entre une première image et une image suivante se traduisant par une région correspondante dans l'image suivante en tenant compte d'une correspondance entre des points clés dans la première image et l'image suivante. Cela permet un suivi précis de régions. En outre, le procédé peut aussi facultativement effectuer une propagation d'étiquette en tenant compte du suivi de point clé.
