Summary:A method for preventing color loss from oxidatively dyed hair comprising the steps of: a) contacting said hair with a shampoo composition, said shampoo comprising: from about 5% to about 50% of an anionic surfactant; from about 0.025% to about 5% by weight of a synthetic cationic polymer having a cationic charge density of at least about 3 meq/gm, wherein said synthetic cationic polymer form lyotropic liquid crystals upon combination with said anionic surfactant; and water; and b) rinsing said composition from said hair. An article of manufacture comprises the shampoo composition and is promoted to consumers.
