Summary:A system and method for fuel reforming in which at least a portion of the exhaust gases from a combustion process, such as an industrial furnace, is mixed with a fuel, such as natural gas, and the mixture is introduced into a first stage heat exchange vessel in which the fuel is reformed. The reformed fuel is then returned to the combustion process for burning. In accordance with one embodiment, primary combustion oxidant is introduced into a second stage heat exchange vessel in which it is heated by a portion of the exhaust gas exiting the first stage heat exchange vessel. The heated oxidant is then introduced into the combustion process for burning of the fuel(s) therein. L'invention concerne un système et un procédé de reformage de combustible consistant à mélanger au moins une partie des gaz d'échappement provenant d'un processus de combustion, tel qu'un four industriel, à un combustible de gaz naturel, par exemple; à introduire le mélange dans un récipient d'échange de chaleur de première étage pour reformer le combustible; à amener le combustible à retourner au processus de combustion pour combustion. Selon un mode de réalisation, un oxydant de combustion primaire est introduit dans un récipient d'échange de chaleur de seconde étage dans lequel il est chauffé par une partie du gaz d'échappement sortant du récipient d'échange de chaleur de première étage. L'oxydant chauffé est ensuite introduit dans le processus de combustion pour la combustion du ou des combustibles dans celui-ci.
