A modular sidestream injection apparatus used during the ozonation step. L'invention concerne un procédé pour l'élimination de la N-nitroso-diméthylamme (NDMA) et de ses dérivés (par exemple la diméthylamine) de l'eau. Le procédé combine une irradiation aux rayons ultraviolets et un traitement à l'ozone. Le procédé permet également d'éliminer les composés organiques volatils présents dans l'eau traitée et de détruire les microorganismes. Un appareil d'injection secondaire modulaire est utilisé pendant l'étape de traitement à l'ozone.
