Cette invention a trait à un phosphore SiAlON caractérisé en ce que sa composition est représentée par la formule générale suivante (1). Lup(Si,Al)12(O,N)16:Euq (1) Ce phosphore SiAlON se caractérise également en ce qu'au moins la phase principale comporte une structure à cristaux de a-SiAlON et en ce que la relation suivante est satisfaite : 0,25 = p = 0,65.
