A latch assembly having a chassis, a latch bolt, movably mounted on the chassis and having a closed position for retaining a striker and an open position for releasing the striker, a pawl having an engaged position at which the pawl is engaged with the latch bolt to hold the latch bolt in the closed position and a disengaged position at which the pawl is disengaged from the latch bolt thereby allowing the latch bolt to move to the open position, in which the pawl is rotatably mounted via a pawl pivot pin about a pawl axis, and in which the pawl pivot pin includes a first arcuate portion having a first radius about the pawl axis, and in which the cross-sectional area of the pawl pivot pin, taken perpendicular to the pawl axis, is greater than the area of a circle having the first radius. L'invention porte sur une serrure comportant: un boîtier, un pêne monté mobile sur le boîtier et présentant une position de fermeture retenant la gâche, et une position d'ouverture libérant la gâche, un cliquet mobile entre une position où il bloque le pène en position de fermeture et une position où il le libère pour qu'il passe en position d'ouverture. Le cliquet est monté tournant par l'intermédiaire d'un pivot autour d'un axe comportant une première partie courbe d'un premier rayon entourant l'axe du pivot. La section transversale de l'axe de pivotement du cliquet est supérieure à l'aire du cercle présentant ledit premier rayon.
