L'invention comprend un concept de réacteur pour transformations ioniques isolées induites par collisions avec des espèces neutres. Ledit réacteur constitue aussi une interface entre une cellule de mobilité et un TOFMS à injection orthogonale basée sur un écoulement de gaz adiabatique supersonique de composition commandée variable dirigée le long de l'axe d'un guide ionique multipôle muni de tiges sectionnées offrant la possibilité de créer des répartitions commandées de champ rotatif RF, DC et AC.
