Summary:A brachytherapy treatment device includes at least one tubular insertion member, an expandable member, and means for deflecting the at least one tubular insertion member. The tubular insertion member has a longitudinal axis and proximal and distal ends. The expandable member is disposed on and surrounding the distal end of the tubular insertion member. The distal end of the at least one deflected tubular insertion member within the first expandable member is offset from the longitudinal axis when deflected. The at least one deflected tubular insertion member is configured to receive a radiation source to position a radiation source offset with regard to the longitudinal axis to form an asymmetric radiation dosing profile. Additional brachytherapy treatment devices and methods for forming an asymmetric radiation dosing profile are disclosed. L'invention concerne un dispositif de traitement par brachythérapie comportant au moins un élément d'insertion tubulaire, un élément extensible et un moyen permettant de dévier ledit ou lesdits éléments d'insertion tubulaires. L'élément d'insertion tubulaire possède un axe longitudinal et des extrémités proximale et distale. L'élément extensible est disposé sur et autour de l'extrémité distale de l'élément d'insertion tubulaire. L'extrémité distale dudit ou desdits éléments d'insertion tubulaires déviés dans le premier élément extensible est décalée de l'axe longitudinal une fois déviée. Ledit ou lesdits éléments d'insertion tubulaires déviés sont configurés pour recevoir une source de radiation pour positionner une source de radiation en décalage par rapport à l'axe longitudinal pour constituer un profil de dosage de radiation asymétrique. L'invention concerne des dispositifs de traitement par brachythérapie supplémentaires et des procédés permettant de former un profil de dosage de radiation asymétrique.
