The addition of the flocculant and the water continuous polymer to the alumina trihydrate slurry following the security filtration and settling producing trihydrate that is put through the calcination process to produce purified alumina or used as seed for the precipitation process. L'invention concerne un procédé pour augmenter la taille et le volume de flocule de trihydrate d'alumine pendant le traitement Bayer de minerai de bauxite en utilisant un floculent en association avec un polymère continu à base d'eau. L'ajout du floculent et du polymère continu à base d'eau à la suspension de trihydrate d'alumine à la suite de la filtration et de la sédimentation de sécurité produit du trihydrate qui est passé à travers le processus de calcination pour produire de l'alumine purifiée ou utilisée en tant que germe pour le processus de précipitation.
