The present invention concerns a system and a method for sending content from a server (2) to a terminal (6), the server comprising multicast means (22) for sending content in broadcast to a terminal through a first network, unicast means (23) for sending content in unicast to the terminal through a second network. The method comprises at the server the steps of identifying (S5) a network type (5) that permits the terminal to connect to the second network and/or the quality level of the reception of the terminal on the first network, and selecting (S6, S'6) among unicast and multicast means for sending data to the terminal, the selection depending on the network type and/or the quality level. La présente invention concerne un système et un procédé pour envoyer un contenu d'un serveur (2) à un terminal (6), le serveur comprenant un moyen de multidiffusion (22) pour envoyer un contenu en diffusion à un terminal via un premier réseau, un moyen de monodiffusion (23) pour envoyer un contenu en monodiffusion au terminal via un second réseau. Le procédé comprend, sur le serveur, les étapes d'identification (S5) d'un type de réseau (5) qui permet au terminal de se connecter au second réseau ou le niveau de qualité de la réception du terminal sur le premier réseau et la sélection (S6, S'6) parmi un moyen de monodiffusion et de multidiffusion pour envoyer des données au terminal, la sélection dépendant du type de réseau ou du niveau de qualité.
