Summary:A charging system that, even if a device to be charged is stolen, facilitates tracing of the stolen device. The device (1) to be charged includes a rechargeable battery (27) and has an identification code unique to the device (1). A charging facility (35) is connected to the battery, which is to be charged, by an electric feeder line (36) and can charge the battery. A server (37) is connected to either the charging facility or the device to be charged and manages charging of the device by the charging facility. The identification code of the device to be charged can be registered in the server. The server acquires an identification code from a device to be charged and determines whether the acquired identification code is registered in the server. When the acquired identification code is not registered in the server, the server sends a charging prohibition command for prohibiting charging to the device by the charging facility.
