Summary:In one of many possible embodiments, a method for treating an obstruction within a blood vessel includes applying a stimulus to a fluid near the obstruction to disrupt the obstruction. The stimulus may include applying a stimulus to the fluid near the obstruction to breach a proximal cap and applying a stimulus to dilate micro-channels formed within the obstruction. Such stimuli may include causing cavitation within one or more fluid near the device, expanding one or more fluid that is in contact with irregularities in the obstruction, and bombarding the obstruction with particles that undergo a rapid phase change. Dans un mode de réalisation de l'invention, l'invention concerne un procédé destiné à traiter une obstruction à l'intérieur d'un vaisseau sanguin. Ce procédé consiste à appliquer un stimulus sur un fluide à proximité de l'obstruction pour perturber cette obstruction et pour casser son capuchon proximal; et à appliquer un stimulus pour dilater des microcanaux formés à l'intérieur de l'obstruction, de tels stimuli permettant de provoquer une attaque par cavitation à l'intérieur d'au moins un fluide à proximité du dispositif, à dilater au moins un fluide en contact avec des irrégularités de l'obstruction, et à bombarder cette obstruction à l'aide de particules subissant un changement de phase rapide.
