Summary:Disclosed is a method for simply and easily producing 2,2-dichloro-12-(4-chlorophenyl)-10-hydroxydodecanoic acid, which is useful as an active ingredient for drugs for treating diseases such as diabetes, with high yield. Specifically, the method comprises a step for producing a compound represented by the general formula (C) below by reacting a compound represented by the formula (A) below with the compound represented by the formula (B): CHCl2COOR1 (wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a protecting group of a carboxyl group). (A) (In the formula, X represents a halogen atom.) (C) (In the formula, R1 is as defined above.) La présente invention concerne un procédé de production simple et facile de l'acide 2,2-dichloro-12-(4-chlorophényl)-10-hydroxydodécanoïque, qui est utile en tant que substance active pour des médicaments destinés à traiter des maladies telles que le diabète, avec un rendement élevé. Plus spécifiquement, le procédé comprend une étape pour produire un composé représenté par la formule générale (C) en faisant réagir un composé représenté par la formule (A) avec le composé représenté par la formule (B) : CHCl2COOR1 (où R1 représente un atome d'hydrogène ou un groupe protecteur d'un groupe carboxyle).
