L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant de traiter un flux de purge dans un procédé de production d'acide carboxylique. Ce procédé fait intervenir un procédé de purge qui permet de séparer les sous-produits d'oxydation en acide benzoïque et en sous-produits d'oxydation qui ne sont pas de l'acide benzoïque, conférant ainsi une flexibilité au traitement et à l'utilisation de ces sous-produits d'oxydation.
