The invention provides a sensor assembly which can sense human tissue in a protected area of a machine. An emitter plate and a plurality of sensor plates are disposed co-planar to each other and adjacent to the protected area of the machine. An electric field is generated between the emitter plate and the sensor plates and directed towards the protected area. The sensor plates produce electrical signals corresponding to the electric field received at the sensor plate. The electrical signals are amplified, measures, and analyzed to determine if human tissue is within the protected area. If human tissue is detected, a machine interface circuit will shut down the machine to prevent injury. Cette invention porte sur un ensemble capteur qui peut détecter un tissu humain dans une zone protégée d'une machine. Une plaque émettrice et une pluralité de plaques de détection sont disposées de façon co-planaire les unes avec les autres et en position adjacente à la zone protégée de la machine. Un champ électrique est produit entre la plaque émettrice et les plaques de détection et il est dirigé vers la zone protégée. Les plaques de détection produisent des signaux électriques correspondant au champ électrique reçu au niveau de la plaque de détection. Les signaux électriques sont amplifiés, mesurés et analysés pour déterminer si un tissu humain se trouve à l'intérieur de la zone protégée. Si un tissu humain est détecté, un circuit d'interface machine arrêtera la machine afin d'empêcher toute blessure.
