A diaper pail (20) comprising a base container (22) with a bottom (40) , an upstanding side wall (42) , an open top (46) , and an interior container space, a top assembly (26) received over the open top (46) of the base container (22) and having a top opening (30) in communication with the interior container space, a bucket (72) housed within the top assembly (26). and having a diaper receptacle within the bucket (72) and a diaper receiving opening that is open into the diaper receptacle, wherein the bucket (72) moves between a receiving orientation and a dumping orientation upon operation of the lid (34) , a lid (34) on the top assembly (26) that can be operated to cover and to expose the diaper receiving opening, a drive mechanism for automatically operating the lid (34) and the bucket (72) , and an input device configured to notify the drive mechanism to automatically operate the lid (34) and the bucket (72) upon the input device receiving an appropriate input. La présente invention concerne un seau pour couches qui présente un corps comportant un espace de contenant intérieur et une ouverture d'accès dans ledit espace. Un réceptacle pour couches se trouve également dans le corps et comporte une ouverture de réception de couches dans le réceptacle. Un obstacle est formé, qui peut être déplacé entre une orientation de réception et une orientation de décharge. Dans un aspect, un dispositif d'entrée est configuré pour signaler une partie du seau pour couches pour faire fonctionner automatiquement l'obstacle entre l'orientation de décharge et l'orientation de réception afin de recevoir des couches usagées dans le réceptacle de couches et de décharger les couches usagées à partir du réceptacle pour couches dans l'espace de contenant intérieur. Dans un autre aspect, un filtre à charbon actif est en communication avec au moins l'espace de stockage intérieur et est conçu pour éliminer chimiquement les odeurs qui émanent des couches usagées se trouvant dans ledit espace.
