USE OF QUASI-ONE-DIMENSIONAL POLYMERS BASED ON THE METAL-CHALCOGEN-HALOGEN SYSTEM
The present invention relates to the use of a quasi-one-dimensional material with sub-micron cross-section described by the formula M6CyHZ, wherein M = transition metal, C = chalcogen, H = halogen, and wherein y and z are real numbers such that 8=(y+z) = 12, preferably 8= (y+z) = 11. Said materials...

Summary: | The present invention relates to the use of a quasi-one-dimensional material with sub-micron cross-section described by the formula M6CyHZ, wherein M = transition metal, C = chalcogen, H = halogen, and wherein y and z are real numbers such that 8=(y+z) = 12, preferably 8= (y+z) = 11. Said materials may be synthesized in a single-step procedure at temperatures above 1000 °C and used in electronic, chemical, optical or mechanical applications.
