A universal flat panel display mounting system (10) includes a central hub and a plurality of telescoping arms (12) pivotably connected to the hub. The arms (12) are intermeshed to provide synchronized movement relative to each other. By telescoping the arms to adjust their length, and adjusting the angles of the arms, connection points (16) on the arms may be positioned so that the universal flat panel display mounting system may work with flat panels in different VESA size categories or for flat panel displays that don't conform to the VESA standard. The universal mounting system is configured to enable the pitch of the flat panel display to be adjusted and to enable the flat panel display to be rotated relative to the mounting system. The mounting system may connect to arms or brackets to enable it to be supported on a pole, a wall mounting system, or in another manner. La présente invention concerne un système de montage universel (10) pour écran plat constitué d'un pivot central et d'une pluralité de bras télescopiques (12), les bras (12) s'articulant de façon synchronisée sur le pivot grâce à un jeu d'engrenages. Le jeu télescopique de la longueur des bras et leur débattement angulaire permettent de faire régler les positions de leurs points de fixation (16) en fonction des différentes tailles des écrans plats, qu'ils soient ou non aux standards VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association). Ce système permet de régler l'inclinaison du plan d'écran et le calage en rotation dans ce plan. Le montage par bras ou étriers de se système permet de l'adapter aussi bien à un montant vertical qu'à un socle mural.
