Abstract The invention relates to methods and devices for imaging a sample, in particular to methods and devices for imaging electrophoretic gels which have been used to separate biological molecules such as proteins or nucleic acids. The invention overcomes the problems associated with interference due to Newton's Rings and chemical toxicity experienced with conventional imaging systems. L'invention concerne des procédés et des dispositifs servant à prendre l'image d'un spécimen, en particulier, des procédés et des dispositifs servant à prendre l'image de gels électrophorétiques qui ont été utilisés afin de séparer des molécules biologiques, telles que des protéines ou des acides nucléiques. Elle permet d'apporter une solution aux problèmes associés à l'interférence due aux anneaux de Newton et à la toxicité chimique rt rencontrés dans les systèmes d'imagerie classiques.
