A movement position detection device for detecting the position of movement of a reciprocating movable body has an operation shaft capable of reciprocating, while being attached to the movable body, in the direction substantially orthogonal to the direction of movement of the movable body; a variable resistor whose resistance varies according to the position of the operation shaft; and a position detecting rail extending in the direction in which the operation shaft reciprocates, the position detecting rail inclining relative to the direction of movement of the movable body. The operation shaft of the variable resistor engages with the position detecting rail and moves in the direction substantially orthogonal to the direction of the movement of the movable body as the operation shaft moves along the position detecting rail when the movable body moves. La présente invention concerne un dispositif de détection de position de mouvement pour détecter la position de mouvement d'un corps mobile allant et venant et ayant un axe d'opération capable d'aller et venir, tandis qu'il est fixé au corps mobile, dans la direction essentiellement orthogonale à la direction de mouvement du corps mobile ; une résistance variable dont la résistance varie selon la position de l'axe d'opération ; et un rail de détection de position s'étendant dans la direction dans laquelle l'axe d'opération va et vient, le rail de détection de position étant incliné par rapport à la direction du mouvement du corps mobile.
